# Installing Flatsome Plugins

## Installing the plugin

### Via the WordPress backend (recommended)

1. Download the plugin zip files from your order confirmation email or from the [**downloads**](https://flatsomeplugins.com/my-account/downloads/) under my account
   - **Note:** Some browsers, such as Safari, automatically unpack the zip file upon download. Ensure you download the complete zip file, as it may contain the plugin directly or an additional layer with a second zip file, prebuilt blocks, codes, or supplementary information. When installing via the WordPress backend, the plugin might be within the second layer, so consider uploading the innermost zip file. 2. On WordPress, go to:
   1. **Plugins > Add New**
   2. Then click the **Upload Plugin** button on the top of the page
   3. Browse to the **zip** file you downloaded previously
   4. Then press **Install Now**

3. After the upload/installation is finished, press the **Activate Plugin** link, and you’re done!

### Via FTP

1. Unzip the plugin zip file. Depending on the download, you may encounter either a single folder named after the plugin or an additional layer containing a second zip file, prebuilt blocks, codes, or supplementary information
2. Connect to your WordPress server with your SFTP client.
3. Copy the plugin folder to the `wp-content/plugins` folder in your WordPress directory. This installs the plugin to your WordPress site.
4. Navigate to your Plugins admin screen and locate the newly uploaded plugin in the list.
5. Click the plugin’s **Activate** link.

## Activating your license

Here's how you can activate your license:

1. Navigate to your **Dashboard menu > My Account UX Builder** (example).
2. Retrieve your **license code** from the order email and enter it on the license page, along with the corresponding email.
3. Click the **Activate** button. If the license is valid, you will see the status 'Valid.' If you encounter an error message that you cannot resolve, please visit the support [contact](https://flatsomeplugins.com/contact/) page.
4. That's it! From now on, you will receive new releases and updates with just one click!
